What is the DGCA Exam?

The DGCA exam is a civil aviation licensing examination. To obtain a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), a candidate must pass several DGCA subject papers. These subjects include Air Navigation, Radio Telephony, Aviation Meteorology, and Technical General.

Generally, the exams are conducted online. However, there are some exceptions. A candidate who has been trained abroad can apply for a visa. Before applying for a student visa, a candidate may have to visit the office of the issuing country. They will have to pay a fee. There are many options for students seeking to study in India.

To be eligible for a CPL, a student pilot must have a valid foreign license, an Authenticated Logbook, and a medical assessment. If a candidate has completed any other course or an accredited pilot training program, they will need an equivalent certificate from their educational institution.

Besides the written exams, a candidate must pass an oral examination. This is a very important step, as all work done in the air depends on radio communication. A DGCA-approved doctor conducts the DGCA medical examination. Applicants can schedule a date for the medical assessment after receiving their Class 2 assessment from DGCA.

For commercial pilots, the DGCA Exam Coaching requires a minimum of 200 flying hours. They must also have an authenticated logbook of five years. DGCA will also require candidates to have passed physics and mathematics.
