IVF Treatment Requirements
In vitro fertilization, or IVF, is a treatment for people who cannot become pregnant naturally. During IVF, a woman's eggs are fertilized with her partner's sperm. A team of medical professionals performs this procedure.
Generally, the Best IVF Centre in India may take between three to six weeks. Depending on the cycle, a couple may have several embryos transferred into the uterus. The number of transferred embryos can depend on several factors, including age, the quality of the oocytes, and the couple's preferences.
Women can use their gametes, donor oocytes, or frozen donor sperm. Using your oocytes is not usually recommended for women over 43. However, it can be helpful for women who have premature ovarian insufficiency, a condition where the ovaries do not produce enough oocytes.
Before starting an IVF cycle, you will have blood tests. These include tests for HIV and Hepatitis C antibodies. You will also have a series of ultrasounds to evaluate the growth of your ovaries. If you have a medical condition that could affect your ovaries, you may be advised to undergo a surgical procedure. Your doctor may also recommend gonadotoxic treatments to preserve your ovaries' function.
You will also have regular blood tests to monitor your progress. You may be able to freeze healthy oocytes that you can transfer later. Having these frozen embryos can make future IVF cycles less invasive.
