Students in an aviation maintenance program learn about the fundamentals of aircraft mechanics and the latest technology advancements in the field. They are trained on how to troubleshoot aircraft systems and carry out preventive maintenance. They also prepare for the FAA certification exam. After graduating from an aviation maintenance program, students can work in an airline company or even become airline technicians.
The Aviation Institute offers two aviation maintenance technology degree programs. Each program lasts approximately twenty to twenty-five months. Graduates earn a FAA A&P Certificate as well as a General Radio Operator's License (GPL). There are evening and morning classes available. The Institute offers financial assistance to eligible students. You can apply for federal, state, or local grants to help pay for your aviation education. Aside from financial assistance, the Aviation Institute of Maintenance also offers rehabilitative services and payment plans to help students succeed in their career goals.
The Aviation Institute offers tuition assistance to military members and veterans. The institute also accepts the GI Bill. The school offers career services, though these services do not guarantee job placement. Career services include resume writing and interview coaching. The institute sometimes brings employers on campus to hold mock interviews. It also occasionally organizes interviews for graduates.
